Electronic Arts have named ONE Esports the official tournament organiser and lead agency for EACC 2022, a FIFA Online 4 tournament that brings together the best teams in the Asia-Pacific region.

EACC Spring and Summer 2022 will be held in this year’s second and third quarters, each featuring 12 teams from China, Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam. They represent a wide range of esports organisations from all across the world, including FaZe Clan.

ONE Esports is also partnering with EA to engage football fans across the region with exciting content and comprehensive coverage of the tournament. The coverage will also be made available in local languages to reach more fans.

“We know that a significant portion of ONE Esports fans are passionate about the EA SPORTS FIFA franchise. We are excited to execute and bring an action-packed series of tournaments to this passionate and engaged EA SPORTS FIFA Online 4 community across Asia and tell and amplify the stories of their esports heroes,” said Jason Teo, Vice President of Business Development, ONE Esports.

FIFA Online 4 is a free-to-play online multiplayer football game released in 2018 across multiple Southeast Asian countries. According to Esports Charts, the FIFAe Champions Cup Spring 2021 recorded a peak viewership of over 25,000. However, Esports Charts does not include viewership figures from Chinese platforms, likely a major region for the title.

According to the release, tournament production for both EACC tournaments will be created for English, Korean, Mandarin, Thai, and Vietnamese audiences. In addition, ONE Esports and EA will collaborate to produce content and ‘comprehensive coverage of the tournaments.

Apparently, this content will be made available in local languages and published on ONE Esports’ website.

The participating teams for the tournament consist of six directly invited teams and six qualifying teams. TS-SC, Manchester City, R&F Ronly, TEAMPLAYxGaming, PSMGaming, and WhizFox have been directly invited to the competition. Qualifying from the FIFA Online 4 Super League Season 5 are FaZE Clan, GRATZ, and MS Chonburi, while DIH Esports, Box Gaming, and Tony Tonyy qualify by way of the FIFA Online 4 Vietnam Pro League Spring 2022.
